He Wasn’t Alone in the Forest… And The Photos Proved It
At first, they thought it was just a mistake.
A glitch in the camera.
A trick of the light.
But the more they looked at the photos… the harder it became to ignore.
In every image, taken at different times, from different angles…

something was there.
Not always clear.
Not always visible at first glance.
But once you saw it… you couldn’t unsee it.
A shape.
Standing between the trees.

Watching.
In one photo, it was far in the background.
In another, closer.
And in the last one… it was right behind him.
The man didn’t react.
He stood there calmly, as if nothing was wrong.
As if he already knew.
When they showed him the photos, he didn’t seem surprised.
He just looked at them for a moment… and nodded.

“It followed me,” he said quietly.
No one spoke.
The room felt heavier.
“What is it?” someone finally asked.
The man didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, he pointed at the image where the figure stood closest.
“Zoom in,” he said.
They did.
And that’s when everything changed.
The figure wasn’t just watching him.
It was copying him.
Same posture.
Same stance.

Same exact position… just a second behind.
Like a reflection that didn’t belong to a mirror.
The man slowly took a step back.
Then another.
“They don’t erase memories,” he said.
“They replace you.”
Silence filled the room.
Because if that was true…
Then the person who walked out of the forest…

might not be the one who walked in.
