The King’s Shadow Started Moving Before He Did”
The first person to notice was a servant.
During a royal meeting inside the throne room, she claimed the king’s shadow moved before he did. At first, nobody believed her. The hall was lit by dozens of torches, and strange shadows were common within the old castle walls.

But then others saw it too.
Whenever the king stood from his throne, his shadow reacted a second earlier.
When he turned his head, the shadow had already moved.

At first, the king dismissed it as fear and superstition. But over the following days, the behavior became impossible to ignore.
The shadow no longer matched him perfectly.
It stretched too far across the floor. Sometimes it moved slightly even while the king stood completely still. Guards began refusing to remain alone with him at night after claiming the shadow watched them from the walls.

Then came the whispers from the royal archives.
Ancient texts described a forbidden entity that could not enter the physical world directly. Instead, it attached itself slowly through reflections, darkness, and shadows—growing stronger over time.
The king ordered every mirror in the castle destroyed immediately.

But the shadow kept changing.
By the end of the month, witnesses claimed it no longer even resembled the king at all.
Then, during a gathering inside the throne room, every torch suddenly went out.
When the flames returned moments later, the throne was empty.

The king had vanished.
But his shadow remained on the wall behind the throne…
still moving.
