Every Statue in the Kingdom Turned to Face the Same Direction Overnight
It began with a single statue.
A merchant in the capital noticed that the old stone king standing in the city square was no longer facing the crowd. During the night, somehow, it had turned toward the northern mountains.

People assumed it was a prank.
Until more reports arrived.
In nearby villages, ancient statues had also changed direction. Warriors carved into castle walls, forgotten rulers in abandoned temples, even broken stone figures buried beneath ruins—all of them now faced north.

Every single one.
Panic spread quickly through the kingdom. Guards were sent to investigate, but no signs of movement appeared anywhere. The statues had not been dragged or damaged.
It was as if they had moved on their own.

What frightened people most was their age.
Some statues were older than the kingdom itself.
For centuries they had stood untouched, weathered by storms and time. Yet overnight, they all turned together toward the same distant point beyond the mountains.

Then strange things started happening.
Animals refused to travel north. Entire forests fell silent. Travelers reported hearing deep sounds beneath the ground at night, like something enormous shifting in its sleep.
The king ordered the northern roads sealed immediately.

But it was already too late.
Because whatever the statues were watching…
was beginning to wake up.
